Philadelphia Mask Mandate Effective Midnight Tonight
This morning, the Philadelphia Health Commissioner outlined the new mandates for the City of Philadelphia. Effective Midnight tonight, the following applies:
Everyone in Philadelphia must wear a mask when entering/exiting an public business, regardless of vaccination status.
Business and Institutions must require a mask for all patrons. NOTE: If a institution requires all staff and patrons to show proof of vaccination, then no masks are needed.
According to the Health Commissioner, the City is asking the businesses to have a reasonable system of obtaining proof of vaccination.
Unseated outdoor gatherings of more than 1,000 people require everyone to wear masks.
The City of Philadelphia announced its new Employee Vaccination Policy:
As of September 1, 2021, all new hires must be fully-vaccinated.
Current City employees are required to be fully-vaccinated or in the alternative, they must be double masked when around others.
